I've used satelite relay before; if you are working off a geosynchronous sattelite, there's a latency of over 1/2 second (278ms up, 278ms down, and then the point-to-point relay delay for the land lines.) This can be extremely disconcerting to users not familiar with delayed response; you'd probably be better off doing a rich front-end that ran locally and passed transactions to a mid-tier component across the satelite relay if keyboard latency is unacceptable.
