It's even funnier here in Toronto.
Between 8-9pm on CBC tonight I heard the F-word (and others) several times. Yet 'racy' movies, most typically on the private channels, beep the profanity until exactly 9pm, when the beeps stop and the words are heard.

Can't answer about the U.S. though.
