Requests have been made for a more flexible installation that offers a workstation setup for multi-user environments.

Well after a day with ISX 3.54 the new installation now has three setups:

1)Full installation - Installs service database, application executables, MDAC 2.7, Microsoft ActiveX controls and Visual FoxPro runtimes.

2)Workstation Only - Same components as above without a service database. This option creates a connection to an existing database.

3)Advanced - This option gives complete control over every executable, run-time file, merge module and dynamic link library installed. The treeview listes all files individually by name and grouped by Application Installation, Database Installation, Dynamic Link Libraries and Merge Modules.

The new installation also gives descriptions of all executables, DLLs, merge modules and data files.

InstallShield Express 3.54 is very cool!
