Broadcast networks and basic cable networks in the U.S. bleep certain words and "pixel out" or edit out certain body parts because:
1. The easiest way to "protect children" is to treat everyone like children.
2. They are dedicated to giving us what we already expect.
3. It creates another reason for us to pay extra for premium cable. Those networks are generally owned by the other networks.
4. Fear often outweighs greed.
If network V (whatever that is) doesn't belong to one of the entertainment conglomerates, then reason 3 wouldn't apply to them. Reason 2 might also not apply in Canada because Canadian networks, not being part of the big entertainment conglomerates (I suppose), aren't creating the current expectations and have no stake in them.
Just a few guesses.
