Seriously though, the only other thing that I can think of that's different is that I was trying to insert a NULL into a column that was a BIGINT datatype rather than a NVARCHAR ... don't see why that would matter (and don't feel obligated to check it out either, unless you really want to), but perhaps that's where the problem is.
