Hi!

It will hang only for a few minutes. Did you wait long time enough to confirm it is a real hang up?

Such behavior appears not only for query analizer and not only for mapped drives. I added once a shortcut to the application on remote computer by using UNC pathname - added it in the Start menu. At some day Start menu started to open with very long delay - and that remote computer was not available. After I deleted that shortcut from Start menu, all become ok.

>Thanks! That is possible, we are hooked to a network. So if any drive is unavailable, Query Analyzer will hang?

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
