Cindy,

All of our VFP applications use ODBC to pull data from our AS/400. After reading your earlier statement to Brad I remembered how aggravating it was/is to install those apps on additional users machines. This is because I am new to VFP and cannot yet dissect the source to see exactly what datasources the app points to. The best I could do would be to write down the ODBC details off a computer already running the app and recreate them on a the machine with the new install. Not the most efficient way but when time is not a luxury...

Anyway. Do you know if it is possible to write a VFP app using external datasources and self-contains its own ODBC connectivity? The apps we use now actually sit on a server and are ran from shortcuts on the users’ desktop. Wouldn’t it work if the ODBC drivers were installed on the server hosting the app? That would solve my problem in a roundabout way.

Thanks,
