Hi All,

I'm not sure if nayone has seen this or has a reason it's happening...

I have two separate servers, each has a different computer name, a different static IP address, are on different workgroups within the same subnet.

Each has Windows 2000 (with SP3) and SQL7 (with SP4).

I was trying to use DTS to transfer data from one server to another. I created a new database of the same name on the server I was importing to. I seelected the source, it was obviously the source because it has many other databases that the new one did not have. I then selected the destination. And I chose the option to "Transfer objects" between the two computers.

As soon as I hit "Next" the system promted me with an error window telling me I could not transfer objectes between the source and destination because they are the same database.

There is no way they are the same database. I then deleted the new destination database and named it the same name only I changed the capitalization of the name. (ie: mydabase to MyDatabase). Once I did this I could then transfer objects between the two databases....

Any ideas as to why I would be seeing this strange behavior?

Thanks...
Mike
