Borland shipped a GUI brief with dBaseV. There is a dBase2K (or Gold?) site. You might check with them if you're looking for the latest. I have a DO version and somewhere, that 16 bit GUI (they had dBrief also).

I still got my BladeRunner documentation:) (for posterity)

>>Brief was a DOS text editor, put out by a company called Underware that then changed their name (don't remember to what) and was finally bought by Borland a long while ago. There were two macro libraries for the XBase developer: dBrief and Quiet Flight (put out by Randy Wallin).

>>As an aside, if any of you remember Lior Hod who used to work with me - I've never managed to get him to stop using Brief... <g>

>>>A recent talk with a customer about previous technologies arouse the comment about a xBase language utility called “Brief” which is a text editor with special features aimed to help the xBase programmer.
>>>
>>>Those of you who started long ago with clipper and dBase probably know about it. Does anybody know if it stepped into the windows-graphics technologies or turned into something else?
>>>
>>>Is there something like “Brief” available for the windows environment today?
>>>
>>>Thanks in advance and regards.
