Novell is an OS... of course it is not the best fit for a db server.

But it can run sybase ASA, an unexpensive though powerful db engine
that runs on win32, linux, solaris and novell... and works well with
vfp thru odbc.

I would not recommend other "full-grown" db engines on novell
(bad track records for oracle and others).

Novell is a workable alternative but my customers prefer
nt/Win2K (simple or linux (free) to run the ASA db...
