I was just pointing out to Jim that for all of her good works, she did have some faults that some people might consider to be serious. I guess that does make her human & possibly a sinner.

>That doesn't prove that God does not forgive I'd think.<s>

But neither does it prove the existence of God.

>>>Your last part - admitted selfishness on her part - surely was obvious though in the sense that virtually all people who "do good works" in the name of God do so to gain entry to Heaven. If that's not selfish by definition then I wonder what is?

>>I don't think that it is limited to those "who "do good works" in the name of God". It's a depressing view, but I think the a large number of people who do good, do so to a large degree for their own benefit one way or another - especially those that get it publicised.

>True enough. Why, even Jesus Himself said that we should "do our alms (spirital things <g>) not in front of man, to be seen by man", but in front of God, to be seen by Him. Sounds like you agree withJesus on this matter. <bg>

In many of the things I have read about Jesus & his beliefs, his views come across as being very socialist, in the truest sense of socialism, and definitely anti-capitalist. So yes, I agree with a lot of things Jesus said. Similarly, there a lots of good things said by lots of other fictional characters in other works of fiction, great & not so great. To me, that's what fiction should be about, making you think about your vies on life, the universe & everything, but just because a work of fiction is good that doesn't mean you should make a religion around it.

>And.. I'm really not that immoderate in my positions Len. <s>

Neither am I, really.
