Hi All,

I'm trying to come up with a secure means of allowing connections into my WiFi router (RH 7.2) to share my Internet bandwith in my area. I had initially set up MAC based filtering with IPTables but the ease with which this can be defeated is worrying.

I've been looking into VPNs recently or perhaps PPPoE. I've got FreeSWAN set up on the router but I'm having problems connecting from Windows (XP).

OK - that's the current situation and here are the questions:
Has anyone set up a Windows / Linux VPN before and how did you get on with it?
Have you set up PPPoE on Linux with Windows users connecting into the Linux box and how did you get on with it?
Any preference between the above two solutions?
Do any other solutions occur to you?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Liam
