Gaylen,

I like LapLink Gold for this sort of things. It can run as a service on the server. From your remote PC you can log to the server easily and do your administrative tasks. Running on a DSL line is fast enough. I don't say I would work all the time in this configuration, but you can live with it. Security bypasses Windows settings, but once you understand it, it's OK.
