Events such as the "when" for the control are actually just "hook" methods that are fired by an actual event in one of the underlying controls. In the case of the datepickerx control "when", you can open the vfpdatepicker control class in vfpdatepickx.vcx for editing. Then select the "keydate" underlying class from the Properties dropdown. Then open the keydate When event method code and you can see how I fire the "when" hook method at the control level.

>thanks I'll check into the keypress event in keydate. But to be honest I did not understand how you created the when event. Of course there is no code in the When method.
