You can search www.download.com for "patch" - I think I tried PatchMaker or something. This one will compare two executables, and create a small installation program that updates the older one to the newer one.

You can't use encryption, or the patch will be bigger than your executable.

Another disadvantage is that the patch assumes a specific version is installed. For instance, you create a patch to update specifically from version 1.2 to 1.3.
