Tom always referred to his flip-flops as his "flippies." The last time I went to his house, we jumped in his car and went to a restaurant. Funny that he drove barefoot but had his flippies with him so he could get in the restaurant. I think he did it so any women he tried to pick up wouldn't think he was *too* eccentric.
