We develop database applications here in Foxpro and in Oracle. I'm using fox at the moment and I have no Oracle or SQL server experience. It's looking like we're going to be redeveloping all of our Fox applics using SQL server with a VB front end. So I guess I have to learn either Oracle or SQl server (or even better both) or otherwise I'm going to be about as much use here as tits on a bull.
The Devcon sessions look great but on rural council wages i'd have to swim to the US to attend and don't think I'd get there in time.
Can you recomend any books or online resources etc as good starting points for learning SQL server and Oracle?
