>Is there a standard for the size of forms in a system. Is 800 X 600 the standard or 640 X 480? Or does this depend on user needs.

I'd say it depends on the user's needs - I generally develop desktop apps to run at 800x600 or 1024x768, but on relative "unbusy" forms, especially in my warehousing apps, where the user may be a fair distance from the screen and readability is a major issue, a 640x480 form on a large screen, with large fonts, seems necessary. I also include code to resize forms for 800x600 forms which might be displayed on 1024x768 or 1280x1024 screens, both to resize the form, or to invoke the Windows COntrol Panel Display applet to permit the user to let them select a diffwerent video mode. If you insist on really annoying your users, it is possible to force a given screen resolution from within VFP (see download #9942) but I recommend against it - see may FAQ #7902 for the arguments against altering resolutions.

It may seem strange that the same person arguing against altering video resolution within the app wrote the class to permit it, but my sanity has been in doubt for years now...
