>I have been using Ole automation for Outlook and Excel for quite some time. Does anybody know if you can do a similar thing with Netscape? I may not even need to do it this way, but I have a need to process the contents of a Netscape Inbox. I tried to convert/import a large netscape message store into MS Outlook, and it fails partway thru. I tried some third-party tools, with similar results.

Netscape (and Mozilla) keeps the messages in raw text format, just the same format they come in. Look for file named "Inbox.", it's the text file where they are stored - like all other "folders" in Netscape.

You can write your own parser using VFP, and convert the whole thing to whatever you like, specially with the great new function StrExtract() and the base64 conversion now available as a new value of the last parameter in StrConv().

I started writing such a converter, but gave it up when payable work came along :). Got it to work to a point, but got stuck with some irregular multiple-level attachments.
