I've once done it in FPD2.6 (easy, just *.prg files), out of curiosity. Or, as we say, "idle priest baptizes lambs". And I've got some funny results:

My framework had about 26000 lines.

My polyclinic app, a real monster, also had about 24000 lines.

My colleague's water billing app had 54000 lines.

Then I looked at his app and saw his programming style, or lack thereof. I've seen dozens of similarly named, and similar inside, .prg files, which were just versions. But it was not a stick-and-rope version tracking system that he was making; three out of eight were actually in use in five different places in the app. They differed by maybe five or six lines. The guy never came to writing reusable pieces of code - his idea of adding functionality was "save as... add a few lines".

So, while counting lines means nothing per se, it may yield some indicator of where in the project something needs refactoring. Many times I've noticed my source growing, as I add stuff to it, and then later versions tend to shrink, as I get to see some things which could have been done better.
