This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
You have to use XP Pro edition to use ASP.NET. The Home addition does not allow you to run IIS.

You have two options:

1. Load VS.NET on your XP Home and connect to a server that supports IIS.

2. Load Web Matrix (http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/) it includes the ability
to run ASP.NET pages in local mode without the need for IIS.

>Is there a way to install an ASP.NET application on XP Home Edition? I know that it would require the .NET framework to be installed (and I assume that should be ok), but what about IIS? Is there a home version of IIS?
