To me "lines of code" sort of meant something with COBOL, RPG, FORTRAN, Assembler, etc. But when you are working with a RAD and have screen formatters, report generators, etc. it can be really off base. On my old FPW2.6 code where I coded all the SAYs and GETs it's somewhat meaningful (I guess) but only for my own personal use as a guesstimate on how much the app as grown/shrunk. Sometimes I redo things and the number of lines drops significantly yet the functionality remains the same. So, there you go, the yardstick just became inaccurate.
It's kinda lilke comparing two boxers, one weights 120 kilos with a lot of blubber, the other 100 kilos and is a "lean mean fighting machine (or 100.1 kilos, that would be Mike Tyson because he's got someones body part stuck in his mouth).
So there, back on topic <g>
