I understand u have at least 3 frames
so create 2 levels of frames
the first partition is for the leftmost frame and the rest of the screen
and the second for the right and center
thus u would be able to put target=_parent
and only the 2 frames will be updates
I didn't try it but I think it should work

if it doesn't however you can always resort to Javescript
or VBscript to do the job for you (Javascript is better
as both MSIE and Netscape support it)
