Please, provide references to all those so I can verify them.
>Duplicates cheapen the value of the list, either by becoming a measure of degree of importance (a reader could conclude that more occurrences of the same means more interest) or by becoming simply more noise (and by inference a poor quality list) to the reader.
That's an opinion. What may seem as a duplicate entry for you may not be the case for the other person. Even if a person already saw that a similar wish was made, that person can still decide to create a new one. There are various reasons for that. One is that a wish may include additional wishes or related material which may not exactly fit at 100% with what the user may want to ask.
Despite as worst as you can see it, this wish list is excellent. Since being implemented, it's been a success and the community really love this addition. Also, I won't change a good formula for now and also because I'm not the only one involved in it as Microsoft VFP team is also part of it. So, as long as they are satisfied and don't request a change, I'll go as is by not touching that presently. Also, as a new version is under way, some part of the structure may change. So, if changes are to be done, it'll be done once that will apply.
