I noticed something - there is a replies panel on the left. So - if I want to check replies I look there. I was using like the old interface - click on tool bar "Get all replies ..." button, the click from the unread message box (in the lower frame) to view.

Now I select from the Replies list on the left - okay - and as I click off the replies on the left my, my message counter will back off, right?

So, as soon as you read/view a message either from the upper map, by clicking on it, or from another location, the message is no longer part of Unread in your replies but moved automatically to Read.
