>Jim - while they're simple changes, you're talking about a lot of time to do that across the board. FWIW, the redesign of Help for VFP 8 has been underway for a long time. (I had discussions with Microsoft folks as far back as last DevCon about documentation issues, and where to focus efforts for this version.) Just as with product enhancements, the fact that a change doesn't show up in the next version doesn't mean that it never will. There's stuff in 8 that we've been asking for since 3.

Yes, I guess that a 3-4 day job, all manual, is too hard to countenance.
The fact that it has been under redesign for quite a while says to me that the timing was opportune. Knowing now that the redesign was underway for a while suggests that the new UT category was incorporated so that ideas like this could be obtained and implemented. I guess it may have been so too, provided that it doesn't take 'a lot of time to do across the board'.
Sure instills confidence in the new 'direct link' to inform MS about documentation issues too.
I'm disturbed that documentation improvements didn't even make it into the list of enhancements. An indication of the real priority of such work, I suppose.

While I'm still very pleased with what has been delivered in VFP8, this is disappointing. Documentation, and specifically its ease of use and accuracy, is IMPORTANT, especially for attracting and KEEPING new VFP developers! The fact that Hacker's is rated indispensible by most of us should long have been a clue to the VFP Team. It's a roadmap of what they need to improve.

As regards other enhancements requested since V3 making it into V8, I hope that this at least shuts up those who like to repeat the refrain that if it isn't seen within 2 versions it ain't gonna get in.

Jim
