Alexander, sorry of not providing this essential piece of the problem before. It happens in the Click event and the line is:

ThisForm.olecontrol1.document.Thumbnail.DisplayFile(lcFile)

A thought had occurred to me that I don't have the required ActiveX control on this NT computer. I tried the same code on an XP computer and it worked (at least it didn't crash and could show some Word doc thumbs and BMPs). Do you know if this control is/should be installed with NT4.0? If it is missing, do you know how I could get it installed?
