You will probably find that VFP will still remain very useful for fast queries and subsequent data manipulation, ad hoc queries, data maintenance, etc, etc, with the SQL Server backend.

The fact the business objects are SQL Server SProcs also opens many possibilities for using VFP on the front end in cases where there is a compelling need (such as conversions of data to different formats on an "emergency" basis -- as in "I need this subset of the data in such and such a format by 11 am..."

With that being said, you probably will also enjoy working with a .NET front end, once you walk up the learning curve, which really is not very steep for simple things.
