Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to make decisions, but yes, the new guy isn't going to budge, if it was my choice, I would choose VFP+SQL-Server.

I will go along with the attitude that VFP is doomed, primarily because I want to prove to every other developer in my company, that is anti-Fox, that FoxPro is a luxury tool-set for any developer.

I'm confident that the team of developers I work with will be missing the FP commands we have at present, within around 3 months.

Fox has got at least another 5 years going for it, but I really get p*ssed off when people who know nothing about it, slate it and think something like VB is better - which IMO is far from the truth. So I have chosen to sit back and say, "Fine" and then I'll watch productivity drop.
