First, I'm hoping that you and/or (preferably both) will be there. In fact, I'm hoping that as many friends that I've met here, will be. It'll be my first coference, and I need people to lead me (and my wife) astray.:-)
Second, I'm a little disappointed that next year's DevCon will, once again, be "at the beach". What's wrong with the mountains? In fact, I know a perfect place: Gatlinburg, TN. The casinos are nearby in Cherokee, NC, it's a tourist town, and there's even the perfect place for us to meet after hours.
My wife and I were up there a couple of months ago, and we found this neat little place, kind of off the beaten track. No domestic beers, Guiness on tap. It's modeled after an English pub. No pool or snooker tables, but they have darts. The reason that there are no pools tables is because the place is in the county and the county frowns on gambling and is afraid that the presence of pool tables would lead to gambling and violence. First, anyone who knows about darts, knows that gambling goes with the territory. Second, as far as violence goes, I'd much rather be hit with a pool cue than have a dart lodged in some part of my body.
Oh...almost forgot. Why is this place perfect? It's name is "The Fox Head Pub".
