I have been working around an error that I have been receiving for the last half of year. The error I received is "Not enough memory for file map". I get this message when running select statements that output large amounts of data. I also get the error when I create a cursor and append the data to the cursor. This error happen with versions 6.0 and 7.0 but not with 2.6 on the same machine and windows environment. It's funny because it is not consistant where it generates an error. On one day I may run a select statement and it will complete 80 percent before the error pop up. On other days, it may get up to 94 percent or no error will occur. This is very difficult to troubleshoot because it is not consistant running it back to back. I currently have the problem on the following hardware:

Dual Pentium x86 800
2 gig of Ram (4 X 512mg chips)
NT 4.0
2 hard drives c: 9 gigabytes with 1.2 gigabytes free
d: 136 gigabytes with 84 gigabytes free
foxpro temp directory = d:\temp
windows temp directory = c:\temp
Visual Foxpro 6 & 7, Foxpro for windows 2.6 are installed on C:

Problem Data Statistics:
Name of File: Traffic.DBF (Visual Foxpro File)
Size: 1,167,905,366
Records: 1,756,245

I have found a couple of temporary work arounds but all are very slow and speed matters for my application.
