Do any events fire when clicking on disabled button?

As I said in my other reply, using the command group helped me solve my problem. I had always thought that it didn't make any sense that the converted did this - I had limited exposure to it in the mid 90's. But now I am wondering whether in fact it is a good idea to always implement an individual command button as a member of a command group?
