That's the only thing I can think of - the error returned is actually a parser error from the VFP runtime, not an internal error to the SEEK command. You might try using the alternative SEEK() function with its somewhat different syntax; the parsing of the function arguments is much cleaner than the parsing for the command itself. This is purely a SWAG here.
