Look at the cost of Advisor DevCon versus the FoxEssentials conference that was held this past spring and WhilFest that will be held this November. This was the first Essentials conference, and I think it was a great success. WhilFest traditionally draws 300 every year. Last year it was held in October right after the 9/11 attacks. If I remember correctly, Whil said only 2 people called to cancel -- really postpone their registration to this year. WhilFest had a little more than 300 paying customers last year, and I would bet they get 300+ again this year. Why? The costs to attend Essentials and WhilFest is more than 50% lower than the Advisor DevCon. And these Conferences feature many of the same speakers, Ken Levy, Microsoft presence, etc. To me, the math is too easy.
