Stephane,
I've been quiet about what I think the marketing effort is all about. So here's my take.
Since the Gartner Group published that report that Microsoft was going to "kill" FoxPro, the product has been "under seige". Now, after 15+ years in business management, I can tell you what I'd do in Ken Levy's position.
First, I'd solidify my base, meaning the community.
Second, I'd call on them to "evangelize" the product.
Third, I'd give them every reason to do the evangelism because they're the people using the product.
Fourth, once this was done then, and only then, would I take the marketing to those outside the community.
It seems to me, and I have no knowledge other than my opinion, that this is exactly what Ken's doing.
Regards,
George
