This would be great from a marketing stand point. Assuming something like this got into the release, I'd like to see the numbers of visits to the Wikis, UT, and FoxCentral before and after VFP8 hits the streets.

If there is nothing like that on the way, here's an idea. Why doesn't the community start an open source style project that creates such a client and see if the VFP8 Team can get it into the product.

What I have in mind would be something like "Download and Run the FoxPortal for Visual FoxPro Developers" right on the Help menu. It takes the user to a web page where its only a mouse click away to download the app we've built and fire it up in the IDE. I would have to assume that with this kindof seperation, its will be convenient enough for many people will access it and distant enough from the actual VFP product that it doesn't have to meet strict internal Microsoft policies for building and distributing software.

If we made sure to use all the new features in VFP8 and showed off Web Services, it would be a useful sample app as well.
