>>Excellent point, Mark. I tried for several years to get to a DevCon. The main problem in arranging for me was that the cost was so high, it had to be approved via a project. This takes time and quite a number of people have to sign off on it. This was complicated by when our fiscal year fell in relationship to the conference. Several times, there simply wasn't time to get all the i's dotted and t's crossed.

>>WhilFest, by comparison has been a snap to arrange because it doesn't require a project. So I'll see you there.

>When you get the same quality for half the cost, decisions are a snap as well.

>Can't wait! Cathi Gero just spoke at our UG last night. She and Ken Levy were on the same flight from the Ft Lauderdale DevCon, and Ken gave her a slightly modified version of the keynote slides for use at our meeting.

Neither can I. I'm really looking forward to Ken's keynote. For me, at least half of what I'm looking forward to is meeting folks that I've met and established a friendship with here at the UT. It's almost as if the session are just a bonus.< s >

>We had about 30 members show up and jaws were dropping everywhere. What was so funny about watching the members during the presentation was when the subject was on VFP's new features, most were leaning forward in their chairs, eyes glued to the screen. When the material "strayed" to the .Net features, they slumped back in their chairs and eyes wandering until the material got back to the VFP side. Our meeting ran over by an hour, but I think most everyone definitely enjoyed what they were seeing.

That certainly echos what I felt when reading the conference report here. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm PUMPED! over VFP 8.0, and plan to stay that way.:-)
