We are configuring a new SQL Server 2000. We are installing all DBs onto RAID 10 hard disks. However, we would like to keep tempdb on its own single drive and controller (RAID 0), as we use large temporary tables very frequently.

What would happen if we lost tempdb? Would we be able to just restore the file (copy it from another location) and restart the server?
