Stephane,
Wish I could say I was having drinks with the two of you, but I've been able to kill VFP7 quickly and easily. My original post here was titled "Repeatable C000005 - try this" - I don't have the original thread number (sorry).
I had logic in the load event of the form that would check for a logical form property - if the logical was FALSE, I'd return FALSE from the LOAD and the form would never initialize. In the data environment error event, I put a simmple condition that set the property to FALSE if the the data environment failed to open a file. From outside the program, I opened the table exclusively and ran the form. Most of the time it would hang VFP, but on other occasions it would toss a C00005 just before hanging VFP.
This problem was confirmed by the community (gotta love this place, eh?) and eventually Mike Stewart chimed in. Not a problem in VFP6 or VPF8 but will crash VFP7 every time. To make things worse, SP1 was all we get for VFP7.
That's my C00005 recipe - anybody else have one? Andy - care to share?
All the best,
~Erik Folley
