In addition to what Sergey has said, I would open the vcx's as tables and pack them.
USE MyClasses.vcx EXCLUSIVE
PACK
USE MyOtherClasses.vcx EXCLUSIVE
PACK
CLOSE DATA
This will often clean up left over garbage in the VCX that may be causing your problems.
