If this is a 2000 server that has service pack 3 installed, I ran into this problem about a week ago. Look at knowledge base article Q328020.

Here is an excerpt from it:
"After you apply Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a computer that is accessed by using Terminal Services, you may sporadically not be able to print to redirected local printers if the document that is being printed is opened from a mapped network drive. "
