At first I thought CurVal() would do according to the documentation. But it would not.

Then I vaguely remembered the go (recno()).

It's good for a couple of things. It lets vfp believe it is going to change the record number. It fires triggers (no or record buffering), re-established relations in the DE, and rereads the record since it believes it has changed
