I finally got it to work. The window name was not as obvious as I thought. Once I figured out the correct name, it worked like a charm. I know the TerminateProcess is not really a best practice, but that is what I have been doing manually through task manager. The whole thing is a nightmare - the ActiveX isn't particularly well behaved in the first place but in the barcoding world there aren't too many choices. Of course the company's tech support knows nothing about VFP, only VB, so to keep them happy I have ended up duplicating much of what I did in VB just to prove to them it is NOT a VFP issue.
