My apologies for posting a general OS-related question here. This is one of those "has anybody else seen this?" questions.

I'm running W2K SP3 / IE6 on a Dell Inspiron 5000e, and I'm getting a sporadic Stop 0000007F (blue screen) in association with the use of Windows Media Player 7.1.

The problem also happened under SP2 and IE55.

It's funny that the crash doesn't always happen when WMP is actually in focus or doing anything, but it _must_ have been called upon to display some video components (AVI, MPG). Either during a play, or when task switching after a play, wham! Stop 7F, with all zeros as the parameters.

Just completed an exhaustive system diag on the PC and everything checks out fine. Rock solid stable except for this problem. I've scanned the KB and found no good refs to suggest the cause of the problem.
