I'm so used to hitting [enter] for IS that I thought I'd solved it. I've had a hard time learning to do this, since one has to hit enter to get object expansion but the effect is to leave you on the same line. This is majorly counterintuitive, IMO. Anyway, any chance you could retrain yourself? *g*

I fooled with tricks. If you could do "<>" then it would work, but it doesn't seem to like commands, instead of functions. Sorry I couldn't help. I'd be interested to hear how you solve it.
