At first SO could not open the file but I then converted the file from VFP 7 to foxplus and it opened with out trouble. Then I copied the file from wins to the linux and I had trouble again. In fact SO did not find the file. Turns out that SO is case sensitive. I change the DBF to dbf and all worked.

Opps! My bad. I forgot to tell you about that.

When I get home tonight I post what I did but, IIRC, I created an ODBC connection and then pointed it to the PostgreSQL lib file.

After three days I still can not find an answer to my question on postgres 7.2 and Kylix 2 working. I've read 100's of news questions using google (remember you provided me that info) and I can't find anything.

Universal Thread IS a spoiler! :-) The professionalism and civility is extremely refreshing when compared to your standard USENET newsgroup. Too many AC posters with egos and a poor education.

For Mandrake there is the Mandrake USENET newsgroup (alt.os.linux.mandrake) but the best is the expert mandrake at the mandrake site. I don't know about RH, but I'd bet they have an RH sponsered newsgroup.
I gave up on Borland. For a propriatary app they have terrible support, and their newsgroup is inhabited by a group of anti-Linux moderators. The hostility is over whelming.
