Thanks for your reply Vladimir but the settings are correct for setting up a combobox using either a .RecordSource = 2 or 6 ... the problem resides somewhere in the underlying code that drives the combobox ... only M$ can fix it. I was a little miffed that something as basic as this has not been fixed in the four year period of time since it's been discovered. That's pretty incredulous for a language as mature as ours.
