I have a custom search control that we are going to use in an ASP.Net Application. I created the logic to add the child controls, but when I add the custom control to a webform the controls do not show up. Instead, the text "system.web.ui.HTMLTextWritter" is displayed. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
Did you add this to your Tools or are you referencing the Assembly and using it in that manner?

I'm sorry, I don't understand in which manner you are using the custom control.
Did you create the control, compiled it and placed it in your Tools so that you can drag and drop the custom control on a form?

Did you create the control, compiled it and you are referencing the assembly in your code by using the "using MyCustomControl;"?
