Howdy gang,

I have a client with a Novell network and I am trying my best to get a .NET application in there. They do not and will not have a "formal" Windows server. I only need to run MSDE and there will only be 3 or 4 people in this app at any given time, so I don't need the horsepower of a "real" server.

So here are the questions:

(1) If I can talk them into a small cheap desktop box to hang off the network with W2K and MSDE on it to be our "server", will I be able to see and use MSDE from my workstation installed app ???

(2) If I can see and use MSDE over Novell from my Windows desktop clients and I can't talk them into my cheap server solution, then could I just install MSDE on an infrequently used existing workstation and have the app use that as my server ???

I got all excited about my app and now Novell is harshing my .NET buzz...
