>>> BTW, you said CB *was* your baby.
>Well, kinda. It's always been Alan Griver's BABY ... but the first version was so mugambo buggy that several fellas took over with their own versions. I was one of those fellas. I put out my own version and started The Codebook Newsletter ... got recognized by Alan ... got hired by Alan (Flash) ... the rest is history.

>It isn't ... that's why I picked it over all of the other frameworks (all of which are very good, BTW). But Kevin's is so much like the original there was no learning curve for me ... that was the big selling feature. It's not even the active participation of the developers using Mere Mortals as I can fix anything that goes wrong with that bad boy ... and might I add that some things go wrong ... but not a whole lot. It would have been a lot more work for me to try to rescue version 6.1X of Codebook than just buy Kevin's. That said, your message prompted me to download version 6.2 of the original Codebook, which is now in the public domain by the way, and it looks very stable. I'd have to check some things out before recommending it but someone did alot of work on the latest version. It even builds a project that can launch without errors! Whooo hooo. Unfortunately, it wasn't when I was looking into it at the first of this year.

>The answer to this is a definite ... it depends. The interface for the business object has changed significantly so you'll run into problems there. However, if you followed proper OO techniques the port should at least be possible.

Charles,

I would like to use the container classes in ictlcont. Especially the incremental search combobox.

Did these come about after your time?
If not, can you help me understand what the "Validation Object Class Name"
and "Validation Object Reference" are? These are both asked for by the Builder. (BTW, you have to fix the builder and builderx fields so they can find the builder code.)

TIA,
Dan
